Thielos Labs is an applied AI lab focused on primary research.

We develop proprietary, fully automated primary research systems for consulting and investment teams working on questions beyond the published record.

## Our approach to primary research

Thielos Labs develops proprietary, fully automated systems for primary research. Our work starts with the research question: who has the firsthand experience to answer it, and how can we establish that before asking for their time? Expert sourcing is one application of our research infrastructure.

We develop machine learning methods, autonomous research agents, proprietary datasets, and custom evaluation frameworks in-house. We run controlled experiments across competing architectures and carry the strongest methods into production. Our underlying systems, datasets, and production methods remain proprietary.

## Founders

Thielos Labs was founded by Hunter Hammarberg and Brendan Royals. Their backgrounds span commercial diligence, quantitative trading algorithms, rates and FX derivatives, and proprietary research infrastructure.

Hunter previously worked in Bain & Company’s Private Equity Group, conducting hundreds of expert consultations on diligence engagements and developing agentic tools for primary research, alongside earlier experience in rates and FX derivatives.

Brendan was a quant research engineer at Millennium, developing investor research tools for a major hedge fund, and a machine learning engineer at Babylon Farms, a Series A-backed startup. His background includes search algorithms and distributed systems at Cornell.
